Vera Wang is an American designer who is known primarily for her wedding dress designs. She entered the fashion business after being unsuccessful as a figure skater, spending 16 years as the fashion editor on American Vogue, the youngest in the magazine’s history. She left Vogue in 1985 and started work at Ralph Lauren as a design director.

It was in 1990 that she first opened her own design company on Madison Avenue in New York. The focus has been on her bridal wear, with stars such as Victoria Beckham, Kate Hudson and Mariah Carey wearing Wang’s dresses on their wedding days. The idea for the business came about when she was planning her own wedding and could not find a dress that she liked. Her solution was to have one created for her. The business will also help brides with dresses for the bridesmaids, accessories and hairstyling.

‘Trunk’ shows are held regularly at Vera Wang stores, so brides can go along and view the dresses before deciding which ones to try. Customers can also use the company’s website to view the latest runway shows and view the latest collections.

As well as bridal wear the Vera Wang range also includes day and evening wear. The most recently presented collection for autumn 2010 has black as a theme, and focuses on feminine and comfortable tailoring that has a slightly dishevelled look.

The Vera Wang brand now extends to perfumes and jewellery, with shoes and home accessories also available.

In 2001 Karl Lagerfeld publicly credited Light Coca Cola for his 90lb weight loss, so it’s no surprise he has put his image on the bottle in a recent tie-up with the company. The limited number Coke Light bottles have his distinctive silhouette (black suit, white collar, and immaculate coif) on the side along with his esteemed signature. They will be sold at high-end Parisian outlets Galeries Lafayette and Colette and cost 47 Euros a pop but you do also get the bottle in a box with matching bottle opener.

Lagerfeld used Coco Rocha and Baptiste Giacobini for an ad to promote his bottle he had Coco dressed up in black shorts, a white shirt and black cravat in homage to Lagerfeld sipping Coke Light from his beloved Lalique goblet. Meanwhile Baptiste plays the part of a Coca-Cola butler.

Giorgio Armani have recently announced on their corporate website that they have teamed up with Roca in order to create a new range of bathroom accessories & bathroom furniture.

The range is called “Armani / Roca” and is set to be released in January 2011. In the meantime there will be a display of the Armani / Roca bathroom concept at the Milan Furniture Fair 2010 from the 14th to the 19th of April in Via Manzoni.

I think it is safe to say we won’t be getting fake Giorgio Armani bathroom toilets!

We are yet to find out whether retailers will be looking to stock the product, or how much they will be. We believe it is likely to be stocked by UK Bathrooms, who seem to carry all types of bathroom furniture & accessories.

You can read more about this new partnership over on the Giorgio Armani website.

When its snowy outside and you can’t get into work there’s nothing better slouching around home in jogging bottoms and hoodies to keep warm and relaxed, have your feet nice and toasty in furry lined slippers and a hot water bottle to hand. But just because it’s grey outside doesn’t mean you can’t add a bit of colour like a quirky knit jumper or stripy leggings.

Even if you have your heating on you still may feel some of the cold as a lot of people do with their hands, so to give them a bit of warmth while you’re lounging around why not pop on some fingerless gloves. You could always go for a duvet day in front of the TV in your pyjamas and to cheer you up from the winter blues go for a funky patterned pair.

As the weather has become ever so cold and wintery it’s worth thinking about protecting your skin from the elements so before you pack on any foundation or powder remember to moisturise before hand to give your face some much needed protection. It’s also important to remember to take off your make up before you go to bed properly and adding some more moisturiser as you face will be very dehydrated from being in stuffy places and all the alcohol you will have consumed.

As it winter you want to go more for the pale and interesting look for your foundation so stay away from the fake tan or bronzer instead use light foundation or powder depending on your preference and use pale pink powder to define your cheekbones to give you more of a fresh faced look.

Don’t over do your makeup remember if you go for the gothic style smoky eye make that the statement and everything else toned down, that also works the same if you want to go for the red glossy lips that many celebs have been favouring of late keep that the feature and everything else more subtle.

If you want to go for statement eyes try something a bit more daring you don’t have to go for the black and grey eye, try a change in colour like purple, for a different twist on a classic look, use inky purples on the centre of your lid blending out to you inner eye and socket with near black shade to give your eyes depth and add a shimmer over the top to complete the look.

If you do opt for red lipstick do be aware that you need to keep on top of it nothing looks worse than faded blotchy red lips and when you re apply be careful after you have had a couple of drinks, you could end up with your lipstick not just on the lips but teeth and around your mouth.

Although glitter is big this year it’s best to keep that to your dress/outfit and accessories and not on your face you don’t want to overdo it and end up like a glittering disco ball yourself. Instead try some muted metallics for your eyes to give you a slight shimmer, or a light brush on your body like the collar bone or cleavage.

You can hone in on your inner vamp with beautiful lace dresses and heels, or a plain t-shirt or vest with some lace pattern tights or leggings wand some biker boots and not forgetting to team these looks with some suitably dark and edgy eye makeup and blood red lips.

After work, or as a regular lunchtime routine, taking a day spa London treatment is tremendously beneficial and will fit you up for the rest of the day, or relax you after you have finished. Day spa treatments can take many forms, but one that is regarded as top of the range is taking a day spa in London.

Thai spa treatments practice the art and technique of relaxation and are at the heart of what a day spa treatment in London is all about. A good London health spa will offer a blend of traditional beauty services and a full range of authentic Thai Spa and massage treatments for both male and female clients.

The treatments can comprise a number of treatments but usually will involve basking in the heat of the herbal steam and sauna rooms. At a genuine Thai spa centre you will find staff that are not just friendly, but who are fully trained in the arts of Thai massages, rejuvenating facials and herbal body treatments. Hands and feet treatments are popular, these treatments work by restoring the suppleness and hydration to tired hands and feet leaving the skin pleasantly perfumed and smooth. Reflexology is an ancient technique that applies gentle yet firm pressure to “sen” points in the hands and feet, which correspond to glands, organs and muscles, throughout the body, promoting healing in these areas.
