As the weather has become ever so cold and wintery it’s worth thinking about protecting your skin from the elements so before you pack on any foundation or powder remember to moisturise before hand to give your face some much needed protection. It’s also important to remember to take off your make up before you go to bed properly and adding some more moisturiser as you face will be very dehydrated from being in stuffy places and all the alcohol you will have consumed.
As it winter you want to go more for the pale and interesting look for your foundation so stay away from the fake tan or bronzer instead use light foundation or powder depending on your preference and use pale pink powder to define your cheekbones to give you more of a fresh faced look.
Don’t over do your makeup remember if you go for the gothic style smoky eye make that the statement and everything else toned down, that also works the same if you want to go for the red glossy lips that many celebs have been favouring of late keep that the feature and everything else more subtle.
If you want to go for statement eyes try something a bit more daring you don’t have to go for the black and grey eye, try a change in colour like purple, for a different twist on a classic look, use inky purples on the centre of your lid blending out to you inner eye and socket with near black shade to give your eyes depth and add a shimmer over the top to complete the look.
If you do opt for red lipstick do be aware that you need to keep on top of it nothing looks worse than faded blotchy red lips and when you re apply be careful after you have had a couple of drinks, you could end up with your lipstick not just on the lips but teeth and around your mouth.
Although glitter is big this year it’s best to keep that to your dress/outfit and accessories and not on your face you don’t want to overdo it and end up like a glittering disco ball yourself. Instead try some muted metallics for your eyes to give you a slight shimmer, or a light brush on your body like the collar bone or cleavage.
