The 501′s where a big hit in the 60′s with the younger generation such as Mods & Rockers, as the jeans would shrink a great deal giving that skinny jean look.

The design of the Levi’s 501 jeans has remained unchanged since the original release date apart from one thing which is the rivet at the bottom of the crotch area. This is due to a Levi employee getting to close to a campfire and the rivet conducting the heat rather to well, since this accident the rivet has been removed.
